Audrey Hepburn has to be one of Britain’s most prolific actresses.
Although she was born in Belgium in 1929, (her father being an English Banker with an insurance company, and her mother a Dutch aristocrat), Audrey held British citizenship and grew up in Kent in the South East of England.
Not only greatly talented but an exceptional beauty, she was ranked the 3rd greatest film star of all time by the American Film Institute.
Audrey starred in the timeless classic 'Breakfast at Tiffany’s' and in 'My Fair Lady’, which introduced the world to the mesmerizing world of class divides in Britain, social etiquette and the social scene of London and Royal Ascot. The costumes she wore in these films have become iconic.
Aside from her acting work, Audrey was a humanitarian also, choosing to work with UNICEF and was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1992 in recognition of her work with the charity and as Goodwill ambassador.
As one of the most successful film actresses in the world she got to star in many Hollywood movies with some very handsome co-stars, and her effortlessly glamorous style throughout her many roles has made her a much followed style icon in Britain.
