Kate Moss

Kate Moss is one of Britain’s biggest and most widely known modern style icons. She has graced the cover of top fashion publications the world over and has been photographed by the worlds best photographers.
Born to a working class family in south London in 1974, Kate was not the brightest child at school scraping by in her GCSEs with one C grade in science, and the rest of the 8 subjects she took were all D’s, E’s and F’!
She wasn’t the tallest child either, fully grown at 5‘6.5” but she became one of the shortest supermodels ever to grace the catwalk. She has appeared on the cover of style bible Vogue more than any other model with around 24 Vogue covers to date and over 300 covers across all publications.
She was ‘discovered’ when she was 14 years old as just a fragile symbol of youth and purity and was made famous by her first major shoot with Corinne Day for the Face magazine when she was 15 years old. The rest is history!
Kate Moss has one of the most unique looks seen in the industry for a very long time. She somehow seems to transcend all boundaries of class and genre to effortlessly represent each look she is asked to portray.
She can do grunge, waif, high voltage glamour, sexy, urban, every decade of style, couture and everything in between. It is very unusual to find such a versatile face.
This is why Kate has been chosen to be the face of so many diverse brands and stood the test of time when many other models have had a relatively short shelf life.
Kate Moss is a true icon of our times. The media has watched her grow up from the fresh faced cheeky girl with the boyish figure in the nineties, to become the rock and roll wild child of the noughties.
Her effortless style and bohemian charm have been inspiration to many, and she is the queen of mixing and matching her outfits. A little bit of vintage, with a designer piece and something from the high street, with an accessory from a flea market. A juxtaposition of street and posh, old and new, shabby and chic, smart and scruffy.
Kate Moss now has a very successful line of clothes at Top Shop which grosses millions, after its owner Philip Green recognized her commercial power and offered Kate her own line.
